The Humboldt County Historical Society invites an exceptional speaker each year to give a local history presentation at this celebration of the support of our local community and sustaining members. Anyone may purchase tickets to this annual event, though members at the Research Circle & Collector's Circle levels receive two complimentary tickets with their membership!  Become a Member

64th Annual Luncheon: Brothels of Humboldt County

‍The 2026 Annual Luncheon will feature Lynette Mullen, speaking about Brothels of Humboldt County.

When: Sunday, February 22, 2026. Doors open at 11:45 am and the buffet luncheon will be served at 1:00 pm.

Where: At the Fortuna Veterans Memorial Building, 1426 Main Street, Fortuna, CA

Cost: Participation is $50.00 per person. We will be keeping a check-in list instead of using tickets. You may purchase reservations here at the bookstore, or by calling HCHS at 707-445-4342.

A no-host wine and beer bar will be provided.

This event is by reservation only; payment will not be accepted at the door. The deadline for reservations is 5:00 PM, Friday, February 13, 2026.

Buffet Menu

House bread selection

Spinach & mixed greens salad with sliced toasted almonds, dried cranberries, apples and honey Dijon vinaigrette (gluten free)

Lemon pepper & roasted garlic chicken OR Butternut Squash Lasagna with with roasted garlic, and parmesan cream sauce (vegetarian)

‍ Rice pilaf with white, brown and wild rice with dried cranberries, pumpkin seeds and green onions (vegan, gluten free)

‍ Lemonade, iced tea, water

‍ Assorted brownies & cookies
