Myrtle Grove Cemetery "Uprising" with Kirby Nunn

  • Eureka Library 1313 3rd Street Eureka, CA, 95501 United States (map)

Over the past few years Kirby Nunn, with a small group of volunteers, has been improving conditions at Eureka's pioneer cemetery. In cooperation with the Eureka City Parks Department the team is locating, cleaning, and preserving historical grave markers. They are also updating cemetery records and maps by researching burials through County records and online Find A Grave memorials.

In this FREE program Kirby Nunn will present historical photographs from the 1940s and '50s, as well as images of the more recent work completed this past year. Nunn will share stories about notable (and not-so-notable) burials, inviting discussion about the various rumors that have surrounded the Myrtle Grove Cemetery since the 1950s.

These programs are always free & open to the public. Arrive early to save your seat!
