Saving the Redwoods: How Part of the Humboldt Forest was Preserved, with Jerry Rohde

  • Eureka Library 1313 3rd Street Eureka, CA, 95501 United States (map)

To celebrate the centennial of what is now called the Save the Redwoods League, and the League’s Centennial Celebration Week (October 6-14), we’ll look at pristine places and pivotal events that were part of the movement’s early history. We’ll learn how a trio of timely telegrams helped save the world’s most famous grove of redwoods, how a pair of floods caused an entire town to become part of a state redwood park, and we’ll look at some of the most striking scenery to be found anywhere.

Join us for this tree-mendous event! For more information about Save the Redwoods League’s Centennial Celebration week, please visit savetheredwoods.org/100-years/centennial-events/celebration-week/

Two (FREE) one-hour presentations beginning at 1:00 and 3:00 pm
