HCHS Events: Community Outreach

The Humboldt County Historical Society aims to evoke a sense of place within the local community by connecting Humboldt County residents to the historical context of our shared home. To this end we work to organize events that showcase unique materials from our collections in local public spaces. We hope that public interaction with these materials at local exhibits and events will generate interest and investment in preserving Humboldt County's cultural heritage.

Digitization Pop-Up at Eureka Heritage Society Home Tour

  • Eureka First Baptist Church 422 Del Norte Street Eureka, CA, 95501 United States (map)

Folks who plan to attend the Eureka Heritage Society Home Tour are invited to bring historical photographs of local people, street scenes, or architecture from their personal collections to the event reception. Humboldt County Historical Society staff will be available, with digitization equipment, to help community members preserve these delicate images that capture our community’s past.

Digital copies of these photographs will be added to our archive of local images. This is a great way for community members to contribute to the county’s historical record, while still preserving precious originals in personal collections.

Records of the origins of documents in our collection are meticulously noted. Donor information will be connected to donated images.
