The California State Library has an online index of the Humboldt Historian that covers 1990-2008. It can be searched at: California Information File II, http://dbs.library.ca.gov/dbtext_html/QueryCalinfo.htm . Under "Keyword" type your subject of interest. Under "Title" type Humboldt Historian (not the article title). Subjects are different from the Historian index listed below. You will not find the full text, but once the year and issue of the Humboldt Historian is found, it can be ordered through the Humboldt County Historical Society.

In the Research Library at the Historical Society we have an index to the Historian that covers 1968 to 1999. We can also access the Ebscohost database index to the Humboldt Historian for you here at the Historical Society. Historians from 2006 to the most current issue are indexed now at Ebsco, with earlier years being continually added.
